We certainly have some cool customers. I was looking through past orders last night and came across Danny Worsnop. I thought, “could it be?” and after some google searching it turns out the UK hardcore unit, Asking Alexandria, frontman has been repping so many different Pyknic shirts on stage. I’m like blown away especially since I’m a fan of the band! Check Danny Worsnop out in all his Pyknic glory!

New Found Glory in Pyknic / Need for Free Water
August 6th, 2010

stevenfg

Wednesday I went to see the Honda Civic Tour with my sister. Unfortunately due numerous unforeseen circumstances, she has never been able to see Paramore. So being the good big brother I am, I took her down to Festival Pier in Philadelphia to go see them.

First I met up with Steve Klein from New Found Glory. Totally awesome dude and the band has a lot of sick plans on the way. He threw on the Lucky’s Lunch shirt for New Found Glory set, I was so stoked to see that live. Photo By: discardthismessage.com

My sister nearly fainted after NFG’s set due to the heat citing that she was starting to lose eye sight and was getting very dizzy. Luckily I was able to sit her down and cut the concession line in order to rush over her a tall Styrofoam cup of water before anything crazy happened. Also there was a kind-hearted mother who iced her wrists and neck while I ran around the venue for water. Looking back I’m thinking what would have happened had I not had cash in my wallet (I usually only carry card)? I mean I would not have been able to get water in time due to a stop at the ATM. Or what if I was not able to cut a concession line of 50 people?

What I do know is that in light of the death of a kid at Warped Tour in Kansas this year, these venues and tours should make some effort in helping these kids out. They’re the ones supporting the music, buying the cds & merch, the $50+ tickets, and so on. A pack of 24 bottle waters are $3.90 tops at places like Walmart. I mean, it doesn’t even require bottle water… put out huge Gatorade jugs full of water from the hose… anything! It’s not plain stupidity that causes kids not to hydrate, think about the demographic here. They are still young and in most cases after purchasing the t-shirts, cds, tickets, etc they might have no money left over and may not own a debit/credit card. Then what? That’s not fair that they have to suffer cause they spent all their cash supporting music.

I know, then the venue loses money on water sales. Well it’s not like we’re giving away luxury products here. Kids aren’t getting free liters of Cola or anything here. They’re getting cheap water that is a free resource on this Earth anyways. If you put out the jugs of hose water, chances are the people carelessly trying to acquire water will opt for the fashionable bottle anyways (which probably is still sink water).

Lets just help the kids out. It really means a lot to me, they’re the ones that keep us all going.

Electric Rhythm: Funky Cold Pyknic
August 2nd, 2010

A few months ago someone from a dance crew e-mailed me regarding our “Signature Silverware Hoody“. I was stoked to hear that they purchased them and planned on wearing them in a clogging competition. I didn’t know anything about modern clogging but today I received a link to this video of them killing it! Scope “Electric Rhythm” of Jacksonville, Florida.

Cape Mayyyy
July 26th, 2010

One of my boyeees Dustin lives down in Cape May, NJ so I thought I’d go and pay him a visit this past weekend. I haven’t been able to hit the beach up for quite some time so I decided to shoot down there for a couple days. We had a great time chillan by the pool and drinking some cocktails with all his friends from home. He lives so close to the beach he can just ride his bike down to the bay or hit up the local bar and grill. It’s awesome being able to not have to worry about driving and being that close to the beach always has it’s benefits.

Here is a picture of the seafood feast we ate that day. It was truly amazing. Scallops, shrimp mixed with buttered garlic and teriyaki sauce. Also had london broil in the mix with garlic potatoes, lobster bisque and baked zucchini. All I have to say is WOW.

Here’s a pic I got of the sunset on saturday night. This is one of my favorite pictures because of the rock pile leading out into the ocean. What a view man.

I love hitting up the Cape, if you get a chance to get down there def be sure to hit it up! I also did a little business while I was down there. My boy dustin is an up and coming rapper. He’s working with some big names in the studio that have won some grammy’s, i’m really pumped on how far he’s come. Expect some big things in the upcoming months.
